When Is It Safe to Reset a Breaker?
A single trip can have different causes, so resetting a breaker is not a diagnosis. If it trips again, will not reset, or is accompanied by warmth, odor, smoke, sparking, or damage, do not treat repeated resetting as a solution.
Write down the circuit, equipment in use, and what changed before contacting an electrician. Avoid opening the panel or electrical boxes.
Stone can evaluate the actual condition and explain the appropriate repair path.
