Circuit Breaker Repair
Breaker keeps tripping, will not stay reset, or leaves part of your home without power? Stone Electric diagnoses breaker and circuit problems across the Denver metro and replaces faulty breakers when appropriate. If the problem is larger than one breaker, we explain the separate circuit or panel work before work begins.

Breaker Problems We Diagnose
The Breaker Keeps Tripping
Trips when several appliances run together, when one particular device starts, or at seemingly random times need different diagnostic paths. We evaluate the affected circuit and connected equipment instead of treating every trip as a failed breaker.
The Breaker Will Not Stay Reset
A breaker that immediately trips again needs the cause investigated. Do not keep resetting it to restore power. Heat, odor, buzzing, moisture or visible damage can point to a larger fault.
A Breaker Is Damaged or Unreliable
When diagnosis identifies a faulty breaker, the remedy may be replacement with a breaker suitable for the existing panel and circuit. Damage elsewhere in the panel or wiring requires its own repair; changing the breaker alone may not resolve it.
A New Appliance or Charger Causes Trips
A garage charger, kitchen appliance, workshop or remodeled room may need a dedicated circuit or a broader capacity evaluation. A larger breaker is not a shortcut for making an existing circuit carry more load.
Heat, Burning Odor, Sparking or Water Near the Panel?
Keep away from affected electrical equipment and request urgent help. For smoke, fire or immediate danger, leave the area and call 911. Do not remove the panel cover, touch wet equipment, bypass protective devices or repeatedly reset a tripping breaker. For electrical service, contact Stone about urgent electrical problems.
Breaker Replacement or Circuit Repair?
These are different jobs. The right work depends on what diagnosis finds:
- Breaker replacement: appropriate when the breaker itself is faulty and the existing panel and circuit can accept a suitable replacement.
- Circuit or connection repair: addresses a wiring, receptacle or connection problem rather than replacing a protective device that is doing its job.
- A new dedicated circuit: provides an appropriate circuit for equipment that should not share the existing load. See dedicated circuit installation.
If diagnosis points to panel condition or service capacity instead, Stone treats that as separate panel work rather than turning a breaker repair into an automatic panel replacement.
AFCI, GFCI and Dual-Function Breaker Trips
A trip on a circuit with arc-fault or ground-fault protection should not be dismissed as a nuisance. We evaluate the breaker type, circuit and connected equipment before recommending work. Do not bypass protection to keep the power on.
When the Problem Is Bigger Than One Breaker
If the inspection points to a panel condition or service-capacity issue, we explain that work separately before work begins. For panel replacement or capacity work, use the local panel service for Castle Rock, Parker, Castle Pines, Lone Tree, Denver, Highlands Ranch, Lakewood, Centennial, Wheat Ridge, Golden, Greenwood Village, Englewood or Arvada. For Littleton panel evaluation and service-capacity work, start here. We explain the project schedule and planned power-off period before work begins and handle required permits and inspections.
For a problem that needs diagnosis first, start with electrical repair and troubleshooting. For an EV project, see EV charger installation.
